The coffee machine was sitting on my door stop this afternoon. Took it out and tested it. It has just the damage described by the buyer that she would not assist filing a claim for. Water runs in to the drip pan from somewhere inside when you try to make espresso. Hot water and steam work fine. She mentioned some other problem about the red light not working but I think she didn’t know how the machine worked as the lights are functioning as designed. I’m going to get the special tools to remove the security screws to see if it’s something easy to fix like some loose pluming. Confirmed with Capresso that there is a flat rate $75 repair for this machine that also covers shipping both ways. Not a bad deal but not something I’m interested in fooling with.

Getting new drums tomorrow. A cheap set but good enough to see if it’s something I want to do. It’s a “fusion” set where the toms are 10/12/14 instead of 12/13/16 so it should save me a couple of inches space. The cymbols are backordered but I saved $110 bucks by not buying the same kit with cheap Pulse cymbals and spent $90 on Paiste ones. From the ratings it seems like a good idea.

What should be done with Norris Hall at Virginia Tech? Tear it down? Memorial site? Nothing special? 
It’s a historical yet tragic site, especially in those classrooms and hallways where the tragedy occurred. What would it mean to keep it? How can it be used to prevent what occurred? Wouldn’t the victims, families and everyone else suffering be best served by making this event bring about a big positive change? This is a public event, like 911 or the McMurrow building in Oklahoma.
